This corner property - at No 14 Church Road - is located in the centre of the village, opposite the Old School Hall. It is owned by the Parochial Church Council who have agreed (by an overwhelming majority) to allow ACSA to rent the building for two years, and to run a small community shop from this location.

To read our "Design & Access Statement" which was accepted by South Glos County Council click here. The intention is to use this property for no more than two years while we seek a site for a permanent, purpose built community shop.

When is the shop be open?
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturdays 8.30am to 2.30pm

What can you buy?
The Community Shop is intended to be a "pop-in" type shop for the everyday essentails, such as newspapers, milk, bread, eggs, butter, fruit, vegetables, meats and pies, suasages, cakes and biscuits, jams and preserves, tea and coffee, pens and notepaper, stamps and envelopes...
We are open to more suggestion - please let us know what you would like to buy in the village here

Where does it come from?
Our aim is to continue the "Local as possible" theme set by the monthly trial shops. Our foods and services will come from the nearest practical supplier - ask us!

What about parking spaces?
None. We want to encourage as many residents as possible to leave their cars at home and walk to the shop. The shop is no more than 10 minutes walk from anywhere in the village, including upper Almondsbury. Get healthy, get active, save the petrol and the wear-and-tear on your car!

Can I help?
Of course you can! Working in the Community Shop will be the best way to get involved in the village and feel a part of the community. All volunteers are welcome to put in some time. Contact us now!

We hope the Community Shop will act as a Community Centre
