What a success!

The Trial Shop has now been open every month from March to July, and after a well-earned rest in August, will be in place again Saturday 6th September from 10.00am to 12.00pm.

Over 900 people have visited the five Trial Shops, and more than £7,500 of goods have been sold.

The first trial shop was literally a "Sell-out", and far exceeded the hopes and expectations of the organisers, but was much too small a venue! Also the ability for us to serve customers quickly was hampered by a manual payment system. At subsequent Trail Shops we have twice as much space, a greater range of goods, and two electronic tills. Thank you everyone who attended and supported us and the village.

Every 45 seconds the Trial Shop is open, someone spends and average of £9.00

If you came to the shop and have other suggestions or comments, please tell us here

Opening Dates

We will be open on the first Saturday of the month, for a trail period.

This is a Shop (indoor retail enviroment with different departments, but with a single payment) - and not a Farmers Market (outdoor disparate arrangement of individuals selling direct). The purpose of the Trial Shop has been to prove that a community shop in the village is necessary and desirable. Confirmed dates for 2008 are:Man looking at fresh bread at the Almondsbury trial community shop

NB - No shop in August
